8 Healthy Ways to Stop Being a Worrywart and Find Your Success

Are you a worrywart? How you start your day sets the tone for your daily success. Mornings can be, oh lets say ~ BLAH! How many times are you hitting the snooze button? Your emotional state will depend on your morning outlook. If you are a worrywart then I can almost guarantee you’ve been up half the night. Like most business entrepreneurs, you worry about the productivity of your business. Will we make budget? Are we delivering top quality programs? Is the business visible enough on social media? Etc.

It’s only natural to worry about your business, your family, and your success. I still worry, but I’ve created a lifestyle that allows me to worry in a healthy way. I follow these eight-steps and they can help you too.

Eat well. Start with a healthy breakfast and remember to take a break mid-day and eat a nourishing lunch. Keep healthy snacks on hand. I hear too many business owners say, “I’m too busy to stop to eat.” Contrary to popular belief, if you take a mid-day break and have a light lunch, you’ll find yourself more productive throughout the day.

Move it ~ Move it ~ Move it in the morning. Energize your body and mind with exercise. This doesn’t mean you go to the gym and bench press for hours, unless you like this type of exercise. Find what you enjoy and get moving. Exercise helps you feel good about yourself and gives you mental clarity throughout the day.

Make a promise to yourself ~ and keep it. What is the one thing you will do for yourself today?

Have the right mindset. Chase away those negative voices in your head. Business owners know what I’m talking about. Your attitude sets the tone for your day.

Take action. Trust your instincts and keep moving forward. You can’t afford to analyze each and every detail or you will never get anywhere. If you find yourself saying things like, “we can’t go to market because the website isn’t ready.” Newsflash, if you’re waiting for the business to be 100% ready, you’ll never leave the starting line. There’s no place for procrastination or to be a habitual worrywart.

Make a plan. Stick to the plan. If you get too busy chasing the next great ‘business tool’ then you will keep spinning your wheels and go nowhere. Read about successful businesses started by great entrepreneurs such as Steve Jobs or the people on Shark Tank or me, Connie Pheiff.

Delegate some of your workload. Don’t try to do it all yourself. Find your “A” team, others who are experts in specific areas and let them do the heavy lifting.

Connect with friends. Leading a business can greatly interfere with your personal life. Stay connected with friends and family, they will support and help you drive your motivation and attitude.

Successful business leaders are motivated, risk takers, and tend to follow a structured, daily schedule of rising early, exercising, having snacks on hand for fuel and socializing many evenings of the week. They’re movers and shakers. Find your balance and you will quickly feel the impact and create a healthy difference to your bottom line.
