Maintenance Assistant

** This position is PRN, approximately 8 hours per week.** 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Prepares and performs minor preventative maintenance on a variety of uncomplicated equipment.  Performs a variety of duties in and around buildings and grounds.  Assists maintenance technicians and other workers with their tasks.  Works independently or cooperatively with team members to perform daily work assignments.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Performs service excellence initiatives such as:  AIDET, Key Words, Managing Up, 10/5 Rule and Service Recovery when applicable.
• Performs general grounds work on Medical Center campus and properties.
• Performs preventive maintenance and minor maintenance on equipment to include boiler room equipment, air handling units, changing filters, changing light bulbs, unplugging toilets, showerheads, etc.
• Operates applicable Medical Center equipment
• Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
• Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.
• Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalency required.

OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:

Valid driver’s license required.  Verification and maintenance of responsible driving record per facility standards required.
