GENERAL SUMMARY:

Works with subject matter experts, leadership, application analysts and informatics specialist team members to develop, deliver and optimize training for specific applications based upon workflow and application design. Develops and implements the training program for respective application(s). Creates and maintains all training materials.  Builds, tests and maintains the training environment. Manages super user groups and trains additional classroom trainers.

 

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
  2. *Designs and provides comprehensive, quality educational material.
  3. *Responsible for mastering both the application and the specific clinical and business workflows. 
  4. *Builds, tests and maintains the training curriculum and training environment; delivers ongoing training post-live.
  5. *Leverages knowledge of processes, workflows and evidence–based practice to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of educational material.
  6. *Ensures the training environment is current with the production environment.
  7. Utilizes a variety of learning media to accomplish educational objectives.
  8. Creates end user quick guides and tip sheets when indicated and beneficial to the end user.
  9. Trains and credentials additional classroom trainers to assist with end-user training and at the elbow support.
  10. Develops and maintains content for computer based training modules.  
  11. Develops workflow based training scenarios appropriate to end users role and specialty.
  12. Conducts end user proficiency assessments to ensure users are confident and competent in the system(s).
  13. Utilizes industry standards for assessment of learners’ skills.
  14. Serves as an ambassador of the electronic health record.
  15. Delivers ongoing training for new users that envisions how they will utilize the system in their daily work. 
  16. Uses a process of continual quality improvement, incorporating the feedback from users and the go live support team to further refine the curriculum over time.
  17. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  18. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.
  19. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Knowledge of instructional systems design, technical application training and training environment management.
  2. Knowledge of system and change management principles and their application within the healthcare environment.
  3. Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions.
  4. Knowledge of workflows and system configuration.
  5. Skill in creating documents in Microsoft Office products and web based technologies.
  6. Skill in delivering consistent customer service through demonstration of strong work ethic and service orientation.
  7. Skill in public speaking.
  8. Ability to incorporate adult learning principles and diverse teaching strategies within orientation and educational initiatives.
  9. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  10. Ability to problem solve and engage independent critical thinking skills.
  11. Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information.
  12. Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work projects and manage time.
  13. Ability to work independently, take direction and work collaboratively with others.
  14. Ability to network and develop effective working relationships with all co-workers, clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
  15. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Associates degree required. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience related to development of curriculum and training materials required. Formal or experience-based knowledge of education and information technology analysis, design, implementation and support preferred. Training in adult learning theory and methodology preferred.

This role will not be eligible for H1B sponsorship.   

 

OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:

Epic training certification required within four (4) months of hire. 

Must have internet connectivity off-premises in order to respond to work requests when necessary.

Per leader’s discretion – If assigned to drive Bryan owned vehicles, a valid driver’s license, and verification and maintenance of responsible driving record per facility standards required.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

(DOT) – Characterized as sedentary work requiring exertion up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

This position is responsible for working with all assigned areas, including all entity locations. Regular Travel (including overnight) may be required based on the needs of the organization.
