Midwest Fiber Networks, LLC (MWFN), a Milwaukee-based company, was founded in 2001 as an Alternate Telecommunications Utility with the objective of delivering cost effective, alternate technology highways. Our networks offer your organization the ability to lease virtually unlimited bandwidth at a fixed cost. MWFN will build and maintain a dark fiber optic infrastructure to customer specifications through either an Indefeasible Right of Use Agreement (IRU) or a Fiber Capacity Lease. This allows our customers to effectively utilize strands of fiber for any purpose they choose for a period of up to 20 years. Consider this concept similar to “renting” access to a private road for exclusive use. With the dark fiber solution offered by MWFN, the customer is in control of what information is transmitted over the fiber, the equipment they utilize to do so and how they connect to the fiber. This solution provides for a tremendous amount of flexibility in streamlining operations. In addition, MWFN’s networks are Carrier Neutral allowing customers to utilize their vendor of choice for finished services.
