Preston MacDougall is a Professor and Assistant Chair in the Department of chemistry at Middle Tennessee State University. He has teaching duties that range from graduate courses in physical chemistry to physical science for non-science majors. He has taught Honors General Chemistry since 1999. Dr. MacDougall’s recent research in theoretical and computational chemistry, most recently funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, has extended NASA’s hyperwall visualization technology to 3D. Known as the Chemical Eye Guy, Dr. MacDougall has frequently taken his passion for science, and chemistry in particular, to the public airwaves as a commentator on WMOT, a National Public Radio station serving the Nashville region.
