Radiologist Technologist


The Medical Office Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic x-ray procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician. Uses x-ray technology and techniques to assist in the diagnosis of patient medical problems.

Requirements for position

  • Graduation from an accredited school of RadiologicTtechnologist program required.
  • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

What will your workday look like?

  • Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
  • Performs clinic reception including greeting patients, patient registration and answering the telephone.
  • Prepares patient for x-ray; explains procedures to patient and/or family; prepares room, equipment and materials as needed.
  • Positions patient and arranges immobilization and support devices for patient.
  • Practices radiation protection/safety techniques to limit exposure to patient and medical staff.
  • Adjusts equipment controls; determines proper voltage and exposure time; administers routine x-ray exams.
  • Observes patient and machine during procedure; reports unusual occurrences to physician.
  • Documents procedure performed in patient record.
  • Maintains CD library of x-rays taken; retrieves and logs x-rays requested or copies made for patients or referring physicians.
  • Cleans and disinfects x-ray room and equipment; maintains inventory and orders x-ray supplies.
  • Performs x-ray quality assurance tests and maintains x-ray quality assurance records.
  • Transmits x-ray images to radiology group for interpretation; completes follow-up of x-ray transmission with phone call; ensures hard copy of report is given to physician for review and notation.
  • Reports any problems with x-ray equipment promptly to physician; notifies Office Supervisor of equipment problems and calls appropriate service vendors as directed.
  • Turns in personal radiology exposure badges for evaluation as required by state law.
  • Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.
