This position is located at Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA.

This position is not eligible for remote work.

Essential Functions

  • Provide analysis capabilities to support current system, configuration, mission planning and performance analyses of Western Range launch operations systems.
  • Develop unique data extraction, processing, and charting software to assist in the execution of technical analyses to include performance, accuracy, capabilities, and deficiency assessments to ensure that current and future systems meet requirements.
  • Produce mission planning, performance analyses of launch operations systems.
  • Conduct pre-mission link margin, GPS visibility and Roll analyses to ensure coverage and accuracy of instrumentation support.
  • Accomplish technical analyses of rocket trajectories, impact points, onboard/ground tracking instrumentation systems, and Range Safety Missile Flight Control Center Systems.
  • Perform configuration and post operation system analysis. Evaluate coverage, performance, and accuracy of onboard vehicle systems. Telemetry Inertial Guidance Missile navigation, GPS receivers, GPS translators, Command Transmitters Flight Termination Systems, Radar, Mission Flight Control Center, Central Telemetry Processing System, Flight Analysis, Flight Operations and Radar Kalman Filtering.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Strong deductive reasoning skills and abilities
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally

Required Experience

  • Associates degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Electrical or Aero Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • zero to two years' experience in software engineering, mathematics or physics applications.
  • MATLAB knowledge
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite products

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship or U.S. naturalization
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License

The salary range for this role is $64,480 to $97,648; however, RGNext considers several factors when extending an offer for employment, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training and preferred skills, and knowledge.
