Job Overview:

We are currently hiring for someone to join our team in St. Louis, MO as an Transporter. In this role you will play a vital role in providing safe and timely transportation services to clients, families, and staff of Preferred Community Services. The successful candidate will possess a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Represent Preferred Community Services and serve in a positive manner to clients, staff, community agencies, and community members.
  • Advocate for Clients.
  • Treat all persons served, their families, staff, community agencies, and community members with dignity and respect.
  • Prepare daily transportation routes utilizing internet mapping sources to ensure efficient and effective transportation operation meeting programming needs of persons served.
  • Record all persons picked-up for transport each day at each stop.
  • Document client no-shows for pick up. Inform assigned team member of the client's no-show from transportation services following a pick-up request.
  • Ensure the safety of vehicles by implementing safety check procedures according to Preferred Community Services policies. Utilize the Vehicle Pre-Operational Checklist form to guide safety checks at a minimum weekly.
  • Attend/complete all required training.
  • Assist Transportation Supervisor with onsite support. Serve as a staff liaison and representative.
  • Serve as a member of the Health & Safety First Responder Team. Assist the Health & Safety Officer with general Health & Safety maintenance tasks as directed such as completion of monthly inventory checks of first aid and blood spill kits, monthly Office Safety Checklists, and annual Accessibility Survey.
  • Provide transportation for Clients as schedule allows.
  • When not transporting persons served, the Transporter may be requested to assist with such duties as filing, auditing of records of persons served, work order repairs, general office cleaning, and completion of errands as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma is required.
