Primary Responsibilities

HDR is seeking a Building Information Modeling (BIM) Model Manager.


We are seeking a Building Information Modeling (BIM) Model Manager that has experience setting up and managing BIM models used in project designs. Candidate must have a strong Revit technical skill and a understanding of multi-discipline BIM project management from design concept through construction. This individual will be expected to work with designers, engineers and architects, project managers and business/operation leadership. The candidate must have excellent leadership and communication skills. They will be expected to effectively interact with clients, both internal and external.

Specifically, the candidate will be expected to:

  • Develop and oversee the production of project BIM models to meet the required BIM uses including design document production.
  • Independently create and oversee development of the model under broad direction from the project team or Project Manager.
  • Complete projects with distinctive design features and requirements.
  • Train and mentor internal BIM staff.
  • Direct preparation of drawings by other junior BIM Technicians, and directly oversee project BIM staff as needed.
  • Work with clients and or contractor representatives using the BIM model for review purposes.
  • Understand the various project needs and how technology can be applied to address those needs.
  • Prepare and deliver BIM presentations at meetings and conferences internally and externally to clients.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10+ years architectural drafting experience on buildings/facilities
  • Progressive experience in the management of BIM Models and BIM processes on large projects.
  • Direct experience working with multi-discipline project production teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of BIM, multi-discipline design development, construction documents, technical and engineering knowledge.
  • Ability to prepare drawings and details.
  • Strong computer skills using Revit, BIM 360 and Navisworks.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required.
  • Preference given to local candidates.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Micro Station and Civil 3D is desired but not required.
