GENERAL SUMMARY:

Oversees the strategy, planning, development, and operations of the Data Analytics function at all Bryan Health entities. Works closely with key business stakeholders throughout the enterprise to ensure that appropriate technical and analytical solutions are provided and meet desired goals. Oversight and coordination includes the design, development, maintenance and support of the data and analytics solutions created by these teams. Responsible for the daily management of data analytics solutions development and adopts best practice standards that are in line with the global analytic and business strategies. Also works closely with other departments and within IT and business units. Holds a key leadership role on the Data and Analytics Council and associated governance teams.

The Enterprise Analytics Team report to this position. The Enterprise Analytics Team consists of various data analysts that have been organized to increase the efficiency and quality of analytic solutions provided to all Bryan Health entities.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
  2. *Creates, defines, communicates and implements a business intelligence and analytics vision, priorities and plan.
  3. Establishes and maintains relationships with key stakeholders across Bryan Health.
  4. Works closely with senior leadership across all Bryan entities to understand their analytics needs and help coordinate enterprise data and analytics efforts.
  5. Manages the enterprise analytics team.
  6. Coordinates all data and analytics activities.
  7. Facilitates the definition and implementation of standards for: technologies, tools, designs and processes supporting applicable data and analytical services.
  8. Defines vision and strategic plans for the Enterprise Analytics team and its associated data and analytical services.
  9. Manages applicable vendor (tools and services) relationships.
  10. Manages the long-term strategic goals for data and analytics in conjunction with data users, department managers, clients, and other key stakeholders.
  11. Conducts research and make recommendations on data analytics products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
  12. Oversees the evaluation, recommendations and selection data and analytics components and tools.
  13. Provides business and technical leadership and direction for data and analytics teams and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a group of employees including employee engagement, adoption of best practices, and problem resolution.
  14. Accountable to plan and manage the daily operations within the parameters of department operating and capital budgets.
  15. Responsible for directing the work of employees for area of accountability, including hiring, goal setting, coaching and mentoring, employee recognition and training, and performance management which includes disciplinary action.
  16. Manages customer, stakeholder and vendor relationships and expectations.
  17. Regularly communicates with staff and manages resource allocation to projects to ensure timely delivery within budget and according to requirements.
  18. Develops and implements standards appropriate for each entity across the enterprise to capture data consistently and to ensure the integrity and security of our data assets.
  19. Prioritizes keeping data in primary source systems and justifies needs for when the principal cannot be upheld (primary source systems being ERP and Epic).
  20. Builds and implements reporting tools that are part of Epic Foundation which supports our current business needs and position us to meet strategic goals. When Epic Foundation does not meet the needs, a decision document will be created to support deviation from Foundation.
  21. Understands the consequences when data definitions and reporting are inconsistent or varied. The leader takes on the obligation for reducing variation in pursuit of data quality.
  22. Responsible for developing a process and practice for data being sent externally from Bryan Health ensuring the integrity of our data assets.
  23. Develops a program to educate and upholds the organization to the data management life cycle standards that are implemented and sustaining these standards.
  24. Implements time tracking for Enterprise Analytics Team to promote accountability and improve organizational performance by knowing who is working on what. Enables teams to work more efficiently by giving them visibility into where they spend their time. Manages resources through time tracking allowing for real-time visibility that allows for appropriate resource allocation, analyzes the current utilization of resources, and revises utilization based on what is most productive for Bryan Health.
  25. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  26. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.
  27. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Master's Degree through an accredited institution. Ten (10) years of applicable experience in data and analytics, with five (5) years previous management experience. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment required.
