In this role, you will be responsible for providing building enclosure commissioning services, technical support, project management, client management, and staff support for both new building/major renovation commissioning projects (Cx) and existing building commissioning projects (EBCx) in our core markets which include government, commercial, education, and institutional clients. This position is remote or flexible to any of our over 70 locations.


Responsibilities

  • Be the the expert in Building Enclosure systems.
  • Manage the Building Enclosure Commissioning (BECx) Process, independently or as part of a comprehensive commissioning team.
  • BECx tasks generally include, but are not limited to:
    • Create/ review Owners Project Requirements (OPR).
    • Design reviews (SD, DD, CD levels) for constructability and conformance to the OPR.
    • Create BECx specifications for project contract documents.
    • Develop testing plans.
    • Review submittals for constructability and conformance.
    • Perform site visits to access project and identify deficiencies.
    • Maintain issues log and coordinate with appropriate parties to gain resolutions.
    • Coordinate and witness envelope testing (water spray testing, air leakage testing, thermal scanning, etc...).
    • Issue reports related to BECx activities.
  • Model building enclosure systems to determine insulation values and dewpoint locations.
  • Maintain and manage existing client relationships.
  • Perform field reviews of buildings under construction.
  • Manage Cx services through the design, construction, and occupancy phases.
  • Assist with RCx projects as required.
  • Independently perform Energy Audits and Facility Condition Assessments, including field reviews, energy calculations, and report development.
  • Perform thermal imaging scans of roofs and facades.
  • Manage multiple clients' projects to completion, on-time, within budget, and within scope of work.
  • Must be able to independently produce reports, summaries, and briefings.
  • Support design professionals on envelope selection, analysis, and testing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree related to Building Science (architecture, architectural engineering, engineering, construction technology, construction management, or similar).
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience with strong background in architectural design, construction methods, construction quality and compliance field reviews, facility conditions assessment, and building analysis field.
  • Advanced ability to read/understand technical materials (i.e. drawings, specs, etc.) and the ability to accurately review physical installations based on these technical materials.
  • Demonstrated experience in problem solving skills, planning and organizing, decision-making.
  • Organized, detail oriented, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to coordinate with internal and external team members, manage day-to-day scheduling, and project backlog; Must be proactive, there are many in-house resources to support projects when needed.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people, and a strong desire to be a positive member of a growing team.
  • Desire to grow technically and professionally, demonstrate leadership qualities, and the ability to help others.
  • AIA or PE preferred.
  • CCP, BCxP, BECxP, CBECxP or other reputable commissioning certification strongly preferred.
  • Certified thermographer desired.

Salary: $74,100 - $120,000 DOQ
