Come be a part of history at this Nebraska Landmark! Part of Milwaukee based Marcus Hotels & Resorts, the Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel in downtown Lincoln has been serving Nebraska's capital city for nearly 90 years and has evolved as the benchmark for hospitality.

What will you be doing?

  • Responsible for the coordination of designated events and the proper communication of details for these events to ensure customer satisfaction and hotel profitability are achieved.
  • Proper and timely typing and distribution of group resumes and amenities for/to relevant departments throughout the hotel.
  • Responsible for collecting all resumes from Event Managers, scanning and sending out to entire hotel staff with Events Report for same dates.
  • Attend in-house meetings as required by your position, including Scrub, weekly Sales/Event team meeting and any other meetings deemed necessary to your position.
  • Each week create and distribute reports to appropriate hotel departments such as the current 10-Day report, future 10-Day.
  • Listen and extend assistance in order to resolve problems such as price conflicts, menu description, banquet facilities, guarantees and seating charts.
  • Provide our group guest with excellence to ensure satisfaction and increase repeat business.
  • Maintain accurate and organized administrative files.

What you will bring to the role?

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, prior hospitality experience preferred.
  • Ability to effectively handle guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills to include the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English Language.
  • Ability to sit, stand and move throughout to perform essential job functions.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, knowledge of Marriott systems including CI/TY is preferred.
  • High degree of accuracy and detail orientation.
  • Knowledge of food, beverage, Audio Visual, Room Sets and Menu Planning is preferred.
  • Strong multiple - project management skills.
