This is a hybrid role working partially in-office and partially from home.

The Sr Accountant - Investments provides accounting professional or management support of the general financial accounting activities for the organization in compliance with regulatory policies. This position will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely and reliable financial operations, data and reporting.

What you do

  • Identify and execute appropriate actions, within tolerable risk, to complete daily balancing between investment systems and custodians.
  • Complete monthly reconciliations between investment systems, general ledger and custodians and resolve issues, as needed.
  • Suggest, implement, and/or document improvements to existing processes and solutions.
  • Process trade activity, assist with NAIC data processing and ensure transactional accounting accuracy within the investment system.
  • Produce, analyze, and deliver timely and accurate financial and regulatory reporting.
  • Prioritize work assignments appropriately to meet deadlines.
  • Identify technical and operational issues as it relates to own work area and resolve or escalate as needed.
  • Partner and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on specific business activities
  • Lead monthly close of investment system.
  • Provide support for audits/exams by working directly with the auditors/examiners in providing data and answers to inquiries.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 1-3 years of accounting related experience required.
  • Previous Public Accounting and/or Investment Accounting experience is a plus!
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience with accounting and financial software (Oracle, PAM, PLM) preferred.
  • Demonstrate initiative and a professional self-directed approach to responsibilities.
  • Display strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to provide a consistent approach and controls to maintain the financial integrity of the business area.
