Job Summary

We are seeking a Structural Engineer for our Bridge team to work on bridge and bridge rehabilitation projects from conceptual planning, inspection, and project scoping, through design, construction, and completion.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform structural analysis and prepare design calculations.
  • Develop or assist in developing structural details and construction plans.
  • Prepare geometric / bridge layouts, construction specifications, and material quantity calculations.
  • Strong technical and communication skills with a commitment to quality.
  • Computer skills desired include Finite Element Software, Bridge Design Software (MDX, LEAP Concrete, etc.) Microsoft Office, Computer Aided Drafting (MicroStation preferred).
  • Successfully interface with staff from a range of other disciplines (highway, traffic, civil, planning, etc.) to support a diverse range of projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a focus on bridges or structures from an ABET Accredited University.
  • 4-10 years of bridge design and analysis experience.
  • Delaware PE license, or the ability to obtain one within one year is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AASHTO and DelDOT design standards preferred.
  • NBIS bridge inspector certification preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written and presentation skills.
  • Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.
  • High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.
  • Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence
