Overview

HILGARTWILSON, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking a Water/Wastewater Civil Designer to join our growing company. Ideal candidates will have experience in water/wastewater analysis and design. HILGARTWILSON has extensive experience providing services on many of the Valley's largest and most prestigious master-planned communities, retail, office, educational, healthcare, mixed use developments and public works projects.


The Water Infrastructure team at HILGARTWILSON focuses on water and wastewater infrastructure projects for public and municipal providers, private utilities, and developers throughout Arizona. Our work spans initial planning and design to construction phase engineering and startup support. We are looking to expand our team by adding talented staff who are passionate about applying their expertise on a variety of exciting projects and are eager for continued technical growth, career advancement, and opportunities to contribute to the firm's success.


Responsibilities

  • Assists, as a part of a project team, in the preparation of construction documents for water booster pump stations, water storage facilities, groundwater treatment facilities, groundwater wells, sewer pump stations, reclaim water systems, and water and sewer mains.
  • Assists with the preparation of construction documents, including construction plans, basis of design reports, and technical specifications.
  • Prepares water and wastewater planning and engineering documents in support of land development and site development projects.
  • Prepares hydraulic models and studies of water and wastewater systems.
  • Coordinates with team members, staff, private utilities, municipalities, consultants, and clients.
  • Processes plans and resolves issues with plan reviewers.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related field.
  • 0-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Current EIT - Passed Fundamentals Exam (FE), or ability to obtain EIT in 12 months.
  • Sound engineering fundamentals, knowledge of hydraulic principles.
  • Demonstrates strong technical skills and can assist in design on various water and wastewater projects.
  • Computer skills required with proficiency in MS Office Suite and working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Displays sound organizational, judgment, and technical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, quality of work, and client service.
  • Self-motivated and able to meet multiple critical deadlines.

Desired

  • Experience in water distribution and wastewater collection facilities design, which may include pump stations, storage reservoirs, well sites, lift stations, water mains, and sewer mains.
  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam Revu, Bentley Products (WaterCAD, SewerCAD, Hammer), and/or InfoWater.
  • Possesses an understanding of state, local, and private utility engineering requirements.
