Job Description

Parametrix, a leading engineering, planning, environmental sciences and construction management consulting firm, is seeking a CIVIL TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERS to join our team of dedicated professionals in our Berkeley, California office. Our team is highly connected and works together in the office most days, with flexibility to work remotely one day per week. Our office specializes in projects aimed at enhancing safety and comfort across all modes of transportation, with a particular emphasis on people on foot, bike, and public transit. Our projects, which vary from crosswalks and curb ramps to freeway interchanges and multi-mile complete streets corridors, typically involve traffic calming, sidewalk improvements, separated bikeways, protected intersections, and traffic signals.

Who you are:

Dedicated: You have your BSCE and 1+ years of engineering experience, inclusive of internships; EIT preferred. You are looking for an opportunity to support interesting transportation projects, learn design, and gain exposure to client interactions, project management, and business development.

Knowledgeable: You have a demonstrated interest in transportation design and operation. The ideal candidate has experience in AutoCAD and an interest in transportation design from concept through construction. Entry-level engineers will be trained to use GIS, Synchro/SimTraffic, and other industry-standard software, write reports, engage in public outreach, and perform site visits.

Relationship-focused: You excel in fostering meaningful connections through your strong interpersonal skills and collaborative approach, making you a standout colleague who thrives on developing rapport to ensure high-quality delivery.

Hard Working: You care deeply about delivering for your clients and your work quality reflects this. The team works hard and is looking for someone to support them as they effectively deliver projects. You are self-motivated, but also thrive in a team environment. You enjoy a variety of challenging projects and, work environments.

Base salary for this position is in the range of $75,000-90,000+. Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, location, and role. For all positions we conduct an equity review. Employee-owners are all eligible for performance-based bonuses based on key contributions. Salaries are reviewed at least once annually as part of our compensation program. We are transparent in our salary discussions and look forward to sharing more about our compensation structure and the value of being an employee-owner.
