Role Summary

You will be responsible for the development and delivery execution of electronics technology components primarily focused on Displays, Sensing, and Audio, which are essential to the autonomy and infotainment systems that we deliver on our vehicles.

The Technical Program Manager role requires high levels of initiative, independent judgement, and leadership capability.This role requires working with technology suppliers in addition to partnering with our internal development teams to deliver current and next generation technologies into production. You will be the voice of the Rivian Electrical Hardware team among the larger cross-functional organization as well as the champion of vehicle program and cross-functional interests when working within the Electrical Hardware team throughout the product development stages.

You will be responsible for driving the Design, Development, Release, and Validation for different Rivian Electronics. You will maintain and ensure awareness of overall program deliverables and report on status and risks to ensure appropriate visibility among teams.


Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the sensors, displays, and audio design teams to create engineering and delivery schedules, closely track program progress, and deliveries against overall vehicle deliverable schedules.
  • Lead and drive the development and integration of electronics via design reviews, ensuring all pre-production builds are supported to effectively launch the vehicle.
  • Identify programmatic risks and work to mitigate and reduce exposure, championing and raising issues and removing roadblocks to hit timing.
  • Work with the vehicle line, software, electrical, mechanical, and other teams to identify and drive critical path and ensure synchronized deliveries.
  • Coordinate with Suppliers and supply chain to ensure timely delivery of components and assemblies for prototype builds.
  • Coordinate with Vehicle integration and Electrical Systems to ensure delivery and successful integration of electronic assemblies.
  • Push and support the release of all engineering documentation to support PLM.
  • Support purchasing efforts as needed to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Be able to plan budget for the project and maintain forecast, maintaining risk registers.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience leading technical programs or equivalent
  • BS+ in Engineering or similar technical degree required
  • Detailed knowledge of electrical hardware design, development, validation, and integration process
  • Direct experience with managing displays, sensing, or audio module development programs
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross functional teams to address and solve complex issues
  • Proven experience tracking and driving the progress of multiple projects
  • Strong team player; drive to exceed expectations and meet deadlines
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and create clarity; oversee multiple projects and make them better
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, able to concisely communicate with assembly line or executives
  • High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex
  • Travel as needed to support builds

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $167,400.00 - $209,300.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
