As an EHS Manager, you will provide leadership in the development and implementation of workplace EHS programs, and help lead and maintain compliance, supporting day-to-day operations, and ensuring implementation of PPG's EHS Management System.You will supervise EHS program deployment in a mid-sized, high-end manufacturing environment that produces state-of-the-art engineered materials for the aerospace industry. Located at the PPG Aerospace Avon, MA site, you will report to the Regional EHS Director and liaison with Corporate EHS and PPG's Aerospace business unit.
Key Responsibilities
Promote a "One PPG" EHS culture by driving best practices to sustain PPG's EHS mission and vision.
Provide leadership, support and guidance to the site leadership team in the development of site-specific EHS goals and improvement plans that drive the overall performance of the site.
Facilitate and support multiple site EHS teams and committees; Participate in strategic initiatives, particularly in areas of safety, environmental, occupational health, industrial hygiene, compliance, emergency response and community engagement.
Oversee all EHS regulatory issues; provide guidance, agency contact, and technical assistance as required to ensure compliance with PPG policies and federal, state and local regulations; Monitor site EHS performance and analyze reports for trends and causes; recommend strategic risk priorities and actions for improvement.
Partner with all stakeholders, including Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, etc., to manage environmental, health and safety strategies that achieve operational excellence.
With close support from the Regional Environmental Center of Excellence (CoE), manage environmental strategies for the site regarding environmental permits, certifications and licenses.
Identify and prioritize EHS projects; Propose and manage local EHS budget in alignment with the site leadership team and Regional EHS Director.
Act as a EHS technical expert and provide functional direction and training in the application of PPG's EHS Management (EHSMS).
Qualifications
A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Safety Management, Safety Sciences, Occupational Health, Environmental Management, Engineering or related discipline.
7+ years of experience; Minimum 4 years of demonstrated experience managing or supervising EHS activities in a manufacturing or industrial facility.
Professional designation as Graduate Safety Professional (GSP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) a plus.
Experience with EHS Software and Incident Management Applications.
