In this position, the identified candidate will work with the Director of Contracts and Procurement to support HDR travel needs for all employee owners to support internal and external client requirements throughout the globe.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Purchase at most favorable prices consistent with equity, quality and delivery
  • Solicit, receive, evaluate and negotiate bids for any major equipment required
  • Ensure that goods purchased are processed, consumed or used in the company, and are not purchased for resale at a profit
  • Select vendor sources and have considerable latitude in determining acceptable prices
  • Interface with legal, insurance, bonding, engineering, accounting, project controls and construction to minimize risk and maximize benefits to company
  • Develop procurement plans and manage budgets
  • Manage departmental and company personnel in procurement-related issues
  • Act as a HDR advocate with the Supplier
  • Develop and nurture relationship with HDR stakeholders through email, telephone, and in-person communication and meetings as required
  • Identify and develop travel related strategies to provide effective, cost-saving options to meet business and project needs
  • Assure smooth assimilation with all relevant HDR operations which could include online booking tool familiarity, training, and implementation required
  • Prepare and distribute the following monthly reports: advance ticket purchases, online booking VS. agent booking, air tickets purchased VS. average rates for lane of travel, air/hotel/car volume reports
  • Periodically update and assist with monthly reporting needs to enforce HDR' Travel Policy
  • Understand and answer questions regarding terms and conditions of Travel Policy and Contracts
  • Support competitive sourcing events including air, car, and hotel, including negotiations while working closely with HDR Global Supply Management department
  • Assistance with one-off sourcing events (long-term stay)
  • Take an active role in vendor relationships. Maintain vendor programs, relationships, and services.
  • Support Marketing and Events booking team
  • Lead project meetings, including bi-weekly calls with internal team and other travel partnering agencies
  • Must maintain regular and reliable attendance record
  • Must provide a report of what was completed / hours worked on a bi-weekly basis
  • Any other misc. tasks to assist Travel

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 8 years of purchasing experience, including soliciting, negotiating, drafting, formulating, and administering purchase orders and supporting events and travel support
  • The Outsourced Travel Manager should have experience in the travel industry and strategic sourcing. Must stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to create a "best in class" travel program.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and externally to maximize performance, creativity, and problem solving.
  • Have a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to plan and manage multiple tasks often within highly demanding timeframes.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.
  • US Citizenship
