MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. High school graduate or GED required.
2. Phlebotomy certification from approved program.
3. Valid Driver's License.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Four years' clinical laboratory phlebotomy experience.
2. One year laboratory supervisor experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Associate Degree in Health Related Field.

1. Selects, hires, manages, and evaluates the effectiveness of employees on an ongoing basis. Assists with departmental training and orientation, and assigns departmental staff.
2. Schedules and adjusts staff to meet facility needs considering staff competency, established standards and regulatory requirements, including appropriate supervision, and wage and hour law.
3, Supervises the daily duties and outcomes of the phlebotomy staff.
4. Monitors staff satisfaction and takes appropriate corrective action.
5. Completes duties in a time efficient manner, prioritizes STAT orders, ASAP orders, scheduled orders and outpatients. Prints, documents, and reviews pending Specimen Collection lists periodically throughout each work day.
6. Provides direction and oversight to the waived testing program in collaboration with the Laboratory Manager/System Director, POC Coordinator Director and appropriate nurse managers.
7. Completes annual performance review for staff employees.
9. Maintains on time courier scheduled pickups. Adds new outreach clients to appropriate schedules.
10. Assists the System Director with prospective new client calls; make recommendations as to how to provide the service.
11. Set up and equip new sites.
12. Monitor new client performance. Visit site proactively.
13. Identify and addresses outreach quality issues observing for trends and resolving issues with appropriate documentation .
14. Assists the Laboratory Manager with the staffing of the Accessioner' s desk. Should always have someone trained and assigned to work the area.
15. Ensures that the staff is properly trained for specimen type, proper receipt into the LIS, troubleshooting of missing samples and orders.
16. Properly trains the staff to prioritize the STAT specimens to be processed first.

1. Able to wear latex and non-latex gloves with frequent changes and hand washing.
2. Able to lift 40 pounds from floor to waist.
3. Able to bend, stoop, reach and be capable of normal rotation, standing and walking for an 8-10 hour shift.
4. Must meet Department of Labor's MEDIUM duty standard (MEDIUM WORK- exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly).
