Job Description

The role:

As a Clinical Scientist, you will implement studies in support of consumer understanding, technology development, formulation development and claims defense. The role coordinates with cross-functional partners to understand the underlying goals and business needs behind study requests and determine feasibility to implement.

The Clinical Scientist also partners with other teams to develop and recommend robust study design and present results.

What you will do:

  • Develop suitable study design and implement clinical studies inclusive of coordination with other study staff, pre- & post-study documentation preparation, study logistics planning, measurements via bio-instrumentation, expert grading, etc., data & statistical analysis and interpretation of results.
  • Build increasing depth of understanding of implications beyond logistics in study design, such as impact of business need, formula technology, instrument limitations, etc. for routine application of both business and science understanding to study design.
  • Participate in scientific depth projects either internally or with external partners such as the Skin Care Research teams or Fundamental Sciences team.
  • Creates or modifies test methods based on bio-instrumentation or expert grading to uncover skin physiology understanding.
  • Participates in the analysis of bio-instrumentation data and in explaining data patterns and their linkage to consumer feedback/consumer opinion.
  • Collect and synthesize data from various areas of consumer research, including skin physiology, to develop models and hypotheses to explain data patterns, generate insights and suggest product or technology implications.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a science requiring experimental design and implementation, such as chemistry, biology, physics or psychology
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in independent design, implementation and interpretation of clinical or scientific studies
