The Project Engineer will provide functional support to the technical maintenance department to implement, repair and maintain systems and keep our manufacturing systems running at a high level.

Essential Duties:

  • Detect and assess problems: resolve; debug; troubleshoot; to provide solutions for/to automated systems and robotic applications, breakdowns, and reliability issues

  • Work independently with little to no direction to determine and implement corrective actions on equipment and processes

  • Ensure proper safety procedures are always in use and utilized / followed

  • Perform equipment start- ups and shutdowns, modifications, and upgrades on all production lines

  • Respond in a timely manner to all issues to ensure productivity and efficiency.

  • Provide technical support to improve equipment operations and performance

  • Maintain all production equipment in good, clean, and functioning condition

  • Understand and analyze interactions between all components and systems: mechanical, servo, robotic, electrical

  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition

  • Understand the operation and programming of programmable controllers (PLC) Rockwell/AB, servo, machine vision and ink marking systems

  • Assist in implementation of new equipment

  • Read and understand electrical wiring block and schematics, machine drawings, equipment layout drawings and other associated drawings and resources

  • Initiate and/or assist in design, frequent engineering design reviews and factory acceptance testing with new/updated systems

  • Work cooperatively with the Engineering, Manufacturing, and Maintenance teams

  • Other projects as assigned by manager

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

Knowledge and Skills Preferred:

  • Basic robotic knowledge and understanding of functions and programming EPSON, FANUC, UR or similar

  • Experience with 3-D modeling systems;

  • Familiarity with networking, PC and server

  • Ability to communicate with Manufacturing management, Engineers, Technicians, and Production Associates

  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and a strong desire for continuous improvement

  • Ability and willingness to lead and train

  • Strong attention to detail

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:

  • Lift and move up to 40 pounds without assistance
  • Work time is spent in a manufacturing environment where temperatures maybe cool or warm depending upon the season, and noise level can be moderate.
  • Exposure to Thermoplastic Plastics and Rubbers. Thermosetting Rubbers, inks, and solvents.
  • Must adhere to all safety and PPE guidelines
