Product Engineer- Mechanical

Miamisburg Ohio

Salary range: 25 TO 33 AN HOUR

Reports To: Product Development Manager

SUMMARY

Responsible for the design development and construction support of new products, special products, product modifications and changes to standard product. This will include drawing activities (layout and detail) and component specification.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Design new products or modification to existing products including sheet metal cabinet design and layout of components within an assembly.

2. Specify and detail component parts.

3. Prepare system schematics and wiring diagrams to appropriate industry standards.

4. Prepare drawings required including specification control, assembly detail and proposal drawings.

5. Prepare and enter Bill of Materials.

6. Coordinate with other departments to resolve problems in production or with purchased parts.

7. Perform cost analysis as required.

8. Operate CAD and mainframe computer systems.

9. Support CAD system as key operator as needed.

10. Perform as checker on Specification Control Documents (SCD's), wiring diagrams, and other drawings.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate degree in Mechanical Design (2 years) or equivalent experience in design of electronic and/or mechanical systems involving sheet metal and electrical components. Must be proficient in the use of 3D CAD workstations, preferably with Inventor and AutoCAD software.
