OverviewMicrosoft Phone Systems is a growing multi-billion dollar business. Our team provides telephony and associated experiences to Teams, Skype and third party adoptions. Our team is called AI, Insights and Modeling (AIIM) that provides business intelligence, data and AI/ML services to the Phone Systems business. We are hiring a Principal Data and Applied Sciences Manager to build highly scalable AI offerings and deliver services and experiences for empowering Microsoft's Teams Phone Systems Business to be successful. This is a unique opportunity to use your leadership skills and experience in providing the data towards building core technologies that will directly affect the future of Microsoft Phone system business which is a multimillion dollar business. ResponsibilitiesJoining our team means collaborating closely with impactful data scientists and strategic clients to tackle intricate challenges. You'll analyze trends and introduce innovative AI solutions to stakeholders while engaging with various teams such as engineering, product, and program management to implement effective business solutions. Our team fosters a growth mindset, fosters excellence, and values diverse perspectives and authenticity. Business Understanding and Technical Oversight: Lead data science projects or teams to meet business requirements and deliver resultsDefine and communicate technical direction and strategy for projects and teams, considering project goals, industry trends, and technical contextOffer technical guidance, recommend best practices, and facilitate team consensus on practicesEnsure project deliverables meet quality standards by setting clear expectations and overseeing implementation Data Preparation, Understanding and Evaluation: Conduct thorough exploratory data analysis on complex datasets to identify patterns and generate relevant hypotheses, employing statistical techniques like hypothesis testing and regression analysisEnsure data quality and reliability by addressing issues such as data cleaning, preprocessing, missing data, outliers, and anomaliesCollaborate with stakeholders to establish project objectives and design evaluation methods, including identifying key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with organizational goalsShare expertise, provide feedback, and contribute to industry knowledge and improvementOffer customer-focused insights and solutions by understanding business, product, and customer needsOther: Embody our Culture and Values
