Job Description

Oversees the general research efforts of the Radiology department based out of the Clinical Biomedical Imaging Core to include tracking projects and assisting researchers in progressing projects through various stages to completion. Promote Radiology Research and communicate between Clinical Departments, University schools, and industry partners.

  • Radiology Research:
    Oversees the general research efforts of the Radiology department based out of the Clinical Biomedical Imaging Core to include tracking project and assisting researchers in progressing projects through various stages to completion. Regularly meet with Radiology Core Faculty, Resident, and Medical Students to promote research, develop research ideas, assist with proposal writing, facilitate research communication, assist in cohort building/recruitment, provide technical support in research effots, and provide guidance in "Materials and Methods" section of manuscript writing. As part of the Clinical Biomedical Imaging Core, advancing projects will require familiarity with the field of radiology, particularly in the areas of segmentation, image analysis, Augmented/Virtual reality, 3D printing, data migration and Artificial Intelligence. Work closely with the division of statistics and analytics in the Dept. of Clinical Research and Public Health.
  • Identify and support grant applications for Radiology Research; collaborate with the Clinical Research Office (CRO) and Program Managers in CRO in all grant administration.
  • Communication and Promotion of Radiology Research:
    • Facilitate research communications between Clinical Departments, University schools, and industry partners.
    • Promote Radiology Research across the institution and beyond.
    • Work with Creighton University and CommonSpirit Health for marketing of Radiology Research for the public and potential development of community philanthropy for Radiology Research.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Research Programs for SOM and CRO.
  • Assist with 3D printing process to include but not limited to .stl import, material selection, tray arrangement, printing initiation, print removal, and post print cleaning/processing. Printer basic cleaning and maintenance with Printer Company support as needed.
    Diagnostic imaging transfer and anonymization for the purpose of research studies to include AI data sets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of science required.
  • Database experience and management.
  • 2+ years experience in at least one or more of the following areas: Diagnostic Imaging Post-Processing to include 3D reconstructions and analysis, Radiology Data migration and curation, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality program development and modeling, CAD and 3D printing, computer programming, and/or big data/machine learning/artificial intelligence.
  • Basic understanding of the scientific process and statistics with prior research experience and publications a plus.
  • Management experience to include administrative/office management a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with radiology segmentation/reconstruction software, CAD software, 3D printing software and additional computer applications as they are or become available to the Clinical Biomedical Imaging Core.
  • Understand and perform basics diagnostic imaging segmentation and analysis.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency skills in MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to lead and train staff and/or students.
  • Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports.
  • Ability to function effectively as a team member, while exercising independent and critical judgement.
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize work with multiple and conflicting demands in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of the principles of research design.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
